Clearly the current economic situation is very problematic and conditions, in many ways, the survival of SMEs in Spain. Problems of access to credit, low domestic demand or arrears are undeniable factors that exacerbate the difficult situation of many companies. But not everything is the fault of these external factors; there are other unusual circumstances that lead to critical business today.
He has published a study on External Financial Management business management control in Spain and their relation to the effects of the current economic crisis. On a base of 94% of SMEs on all companies covered by this study, we can see that poor internal management of companies contributing to a greater extent that these external factors already mentioned, the worrying state in which they are many SMEs.
There are several data observed in the study. For example, 61% of companies have at the end of first quarter, a budget for 2010; the other 31% did not. We assume that the budget is essential to quantify the targets as a step towards achieving them and to further understand the involvement of all heads of various departments in the preparation of their budgets enables higher quality information and coordinate such objectives, well, of all companies that have their budget; only 48% involves different departments in their preparation.
